Care that provokes

movement

Psychotherapy for adults and adolescents.
Institutional consulting for companies and public and private organizations.

About me

I am Mariana Allgayer, psychologist (CRP/RS 18604/07), specialist in Family and Community Health, with a master’s degree in Institutional Social Psychology. Passionate about people and the differences they make in the world.

My clinical experience was formed by the philosophy of difference, psychoanalysis and social and institutional psychology. Thus, my work is based on active listening, taking into account the different social, cultural, and historical contexts of each person and group I work with. My perspective encompasses not only psychological, cognitive, and affective issues, but also social, cultural, economic, class, gender, and other issues, respecting each individual’s unique journey, based on a singular and comprehensive view of health.

I believe that attentive listening, combined with ethical practice committed to the production of life and health, is capable of driving significant changes in the lives of people and organizations.

I understand health as a vital process in our relationship with the environment in which we live. The environment is always fickle and impermanent, challenging us to a constant and unfinished process of creating other environments and norms for living. In my work, I seek to promote a health that is synonymous with movement, through which we can create and produce other ways of living. Escaping the idea of health as an ideal to be achieved.

I work in my own office in the center of São Leopoldo/RS and also online, in Portuguese and English — to welcome those who seek a space for transformation, movement, and the creation of other ways of being and existing in the world.

How can I support you?

Each life journey is unique. My job is to create the space and time necessary for your movement to happen with acceptance, ethics, and care. I work to promote health with people and organizations, building moments of reflection and analysis that contribute to creating new movements in life.

Care that inspires movement

My practice is based on four pillars that underpin each encounter:

Welcoming

Attentive, active listening focused on creating a relationship of trust and commitment, recognizing the uniqueness of each journey with empathy and without judgment, seeking to enhance the movements of health and well-being.

Ethics

Commitment to respect, confidentiality, and professional responsibility.

Movement

Health is our ability to create new norms and transform ourselves in different situations, overcoming the limits of a preexisting norm. Promoting health is synonymous with movement, through which we create and produce other ways of living.

Integrality

Understanding the processes of illness in their complexity, considering physical, mental and emotional and social, historical, family, and environmental contexts.

Psychotherapy is an invitation: to look at yourself, to move, to transform yourself.
We carry out this process together, building a relationship of trust that promotes health in the construction of a life worth living.
